Well, I could see where you're coming from. But I'm also turning 20 soon and I don't know if I'm gonna be headed down the whole "long term" path just yet or not.. but we'll see where this takes me
I've had my fair share of short-lived flings and relationships that went nowhere. The best advice I ever received was from my grandfather, "don't date some broad that you can't see yourself marrying in the future. If you don't see a future with her, don't waste your time." Maybe I've grown up enough to understand what that means, because now, it's a whole different ball game.
Yeah, we've been working on this since September but I think things are coming together real soon... or at least I hope.
Sometimes you have to take it slow. For me, I wasn't expecting any of this. I got blindsided, but it feels good.
Aww, well that's really awesome. Good for you! It's obvious that my new boy and I have feelings for each other but we haven't really talked about it lately so we're kind of between being together and in a relationship. I guess you can say we're "unofficial" or whatever. I don't know but it's taking some time to get things really moving with us
I went on a mission, came back to the base and made plans with my boys to play Spades and Dominoes at our shitty little rec center. I saw her, introduced myself, stumbled over my words like a moron and thought I didn't have a chance. Then I convinced myself that I was delirious for even thinking like that. I met her again, we hit it off, became good friends, and now, we're madly in love with each other.
It happened just like that. Srsly. I'm stubborn, so my mind is made up and I don't care what people say because she has become a priority in my life.
In late August my friend introduced me to one of his roommates and we pretty much hit it off... it's actually a long complicated story because my friend ended up having feelings for me, but things with my love interest didn't start moving until recently... and they are moving VERY slow let me tell you.
How about you? How did you meet this lady that's got you on cloud nine?
I feel a lot better about it though because it's been a long struggle for him and I know he is in a better place now.
I know exactly how you feel, I love being on cloud nine, isn't it great?
Oh, and I'm here until February. My future remains largely uncertain after that. But I'm on cloud 9 and where I go she goes.
I know what that's like all too well, unfortunately. Yes, this will pass over time but you need to find it within yourself to be as strong as possible, but don't be afraid to mourn. Those who care about you will have your back during times of need. And if this new guy is worth a damn, he'll have your back, too.
Things haven't been going well at all this passed semester and my uncle recently passed away. I've never lost anyone close to me so for a while I wasn't sure how to feel and once it hit me it was pretty tough. It happened during finals week which was rough and I even missed the wake & funeral because of finals. But, it will pass over time I'm sure.
I can't remember if I've asked you this before but how much longer are you over there?
& I too have someone new in my life which is nice :]

Things on my end are just fine. What bothered me before has become the accepted norm for me. This third world country was once a beautiful place to live, and I sometimes see glimpses of that, but at the end of the day, it's still a third world country. Overall, I'm pretty good.
There's a new person in my life, too. That always helps.
